Note: The following index documents decades of child sexual-abuse complaints lodged against volunteers associated with the Boy Scouts of America. This information is from the Boy Scouts of America’s own internal files. This information is being provided in the interests of public safety and education. Many of these individuals have never been given an opportunity to refute these allegations in a court of law. Therefore, we make no assumptions about their guilt or innocence.
The information contained in this index was compiled by attorney Tim Kosnoff of Kosnoff Fasy, who has represented more than 100 child sex-abuse cases against the Boy Scouts of America in the past decade. Kosnoff gathered these 65,000 pages of documents over many years and from a variety of sources, including court cases and those who had access to the Boy Scouts of America database.
Kosnoff then spent several years analyzing the materials. His 1971-1991 index identifies 1,932 volunteers expelled for alleged inappropriate sexual conduct with children. Included here are Kosnoff’s attorney notes on thousands of alleged perpetrators. Kosnoff shared this information with the Los Angeles Times in spring 2011. The Los Angeles Times used this information to produce a series of news articles about sexual predators serving within the ranks of the Boy Scouts of America.
